Captain Action & SDCC...

So last night I learned that I was in the final three for Moonstone's Captain Action series. But I didn't get there. But considering out of all the people I was up against I lost out to Fabian Nicieza, I don't feel too bad. And Joe at Moonstone's given me back the pitch to use as I want. I'm going to re-jig it as the Eleventh Hour pitch I've been promising since The Gloom.

So in under two months now we have San Diego. And that might soud like ages, but trust me, it isn't. I have so much to do beforehand it's crazy. This week is catchup. And finishing my final Starship Troopers. On Thursday I may be in London. On Saturday I'm definitely in London seeing IDW head honcho Chris Ryall and most likely Simon Furman in a bar. And possibly Mark Millar in another bar later in the day.

The week after that? I'm in Rome. A week of touristy fun with the delightful touring partner lady_of_sha1ot. Then I'm doing the BBC thing on the 19th and getting ready for the first Moot on 23/24th. Then a week later it's my 37th Birthday on the 30th. Nothing big this year, just a drink at the Red Lion most likely.

And then we're into July. And Midnight Kiss's Trade will be out, so I'll be doing interviews and PR and Dan and I need to have issues #1 and #2 of Hope Falls ready to show Diamond.

And then there's San Diego.

And that's not including the pitches I have to do, the 22 page script for a US publisher, the Wallace & Gromit stories, the Shrek stories, the re-writes to various things, the whole Group Editor shebang, getting pitch packages ready for Crowtown and a couple of others, writing my book, doing my column and organising my meetings in San Diego.

Bloody hell. On a plus note, I don't have a booth this year, which makes it easier to relax. I intend to do as little actual 'work' as I do at a standard UK con. I do however already have tentative meetings with a couple of people in that 'yeah, pop over, we'll have a beer and talk about things' kind of way. And of course I'll be at the AiT/PlanetLar booth a couple of times - but it's better than last year - but not that much better...

No wonder I need sleep.

Heh, you had me in a state of shock there for a bit until I remembered you already had a project on the go called Eleventh Hour.

That's a lot of stuff you've got there, Mr Lee. Nice to see Crowtown being worked on, I was really looking forward to that project a while back. Well, I still AM but it went away for a long time what with the other million projects getting in the way.

I wonder how I ranked.

But I'd rather have lost against you than to Nicieza.

Yay Simon Furman. Harrass him further over the Spotlight: Wheelie idea :v

I wonder what your Action would've been like..
Given the pool they had to choose from, I can't wait to see what Captain Action will be like.

Mind if I ask your pitch?

Us non-professional comic writers tried out too, but hey.
